Remembrance Sunday

For the past six years Dan Nicholson (above) has shared his thoughts and memories of his war-time experiences with us during the Remembrance Day service. Over the years, Dan has spoken about his family, his comrades, life during war-time and how his faith has helped him during difficult times. Many of us at St. David's can only imagine what it must have been like and we really appreciate Dan for sharing with us.

St. David's committee 'Away Day'.

Alistair Kaye faciltated the day for us. The exercises were interesting with a few surprises along the way. We found the day to be very helpful in helping us to recognise our ministries and we appreciated the setting of Hollin House and the space to focus on past, present and future. It is hoped to organise a follow up event to think about the way forward after Bob retires and what that means for our church.

'Away Day'

At St. David's we have a small committee. We get together every couple of months to plan events or talk about things that need to be discussed further at the PCC. Our Priest in charge of St. David's, Bob, will be retiring next year so it seemed like a good idea to get the committee together and away from the parish to talk about the future. So, this Saturday we are spending time at Hollin House. We're really looking forward to it, not to mention Bryan's fish and chips which is just up the road!

I'll let you know how we get on.

The alpha and hopefully not the omega!

Hi. I'm Julie, the Reader for the Beeston parish and worshipper at St. David's. How exciting to be posting my first blog. It's my intention to add regular updates to keep you in touch with what's going on here at St. Davids. It would be great to hear from anyone who would like to add their comments.
